Louise visits local Delivery Office ahead of National Postal Workers Day 2016

On Friday December 9th, Louise paid a visit to the Royal Mail’s South East Delivery Office at Manor Top, in order to see how the postal service is coping at this busy time of year. After an early start, Louise was shown around the busy but efficient workplace and got a sense of the demands of the job. Louise also had a chance to chat with the office’s union representative about the dozens of unionised workers on site.  southeastdeliveryoffice.png

Today, Monday 12th December, is National Postal Workers’ Day, the busiest posting day of the year, and the Communication Workers’ Union is marking it by promoting their campaign for a long term future for our postal service.

Louise commented: "Getting post and deliveries on time is vital to thousands of Sheffield’s businesses and people, and it was great to meet the people doing the tough job of keeping Sheffield’s post moving. Thanks to all those who helped arrange the visit for an illuminating and interesting morning."
