My Week in Parliament

13166127_493864764157832_4536840142756084779_n.pngThis week in Parliament we have the Police and Crime Bill coming before the House at report stage, this is a wide ranging bill, which contains a large amount of proposed changes to the way complaints are currently handled, police discipline, whistle-blowers and the handling of CSE cases.  It also makes provisions for Deputy Police and Crime Commissioners.

We also have Cabinet Office Questions, and an opposition debate on the Economic benefits of EU, which I expect will be quite heated!

I will be meeting with the company who have been granted permission to conduct exploratory Fracking in our area to raise my concerns and objections to this. Hundreds of constituents have been in contact about this issue.

And I'll be hosting an event with TechUk to discuss the Government's Digital Strategy, or lack of it!

On Tuesday I'm meeting with the Secretary of State for Culture to discuss the role of Ofcom in protecting people's privacy and Punch Taverns to talk about the forthcoming Pubcode.

As part of National Visit a Care Home Day I will be visiting two care homes on Friday.  I will also be attending Heeley City Farm Festival, meeting with the National Autistic Society, and visiting Mossbrook School for lunch and to meet their school council.  I'll also be holding my regular advice surgery on Friday, if you want an appointment please get in touch.
